I think it already goes without saying, here at Wallcorners, we absolutely adore colorful interiors. So imagine our excitement when Pantone announced Ultra Violet as its 2020 Color Of The Year. Many say it’s a color that’s difficult to decorate with, but then again, where’s the fun in plain and easy?

To make things a little more trouble-free for you, we have curated 10 easy-as-pie home decor ideas that’s going to make injecting some of that Ultra Violet into your home seem like child’s play.

According to Laurie Pressman, the Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute, “The Pantone Color of the Year has come to mean so much more than ‘what’s trending’ in the world of design; it’s truly a reflection of what’s needed in our world today.” And this is definitely true for the “dramatically provocative and thoughtful” shade of purple. It is said to communicate “originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking” and suggests “the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead”.

Mysterious purples have long symbolized individuality, non-comformity and unconventional artistic brilliance as it was brought onto the forefront of western pop culture by icons like Prince, Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie.

Living within our fast-paced and sometimes over-stimulated world, Ultra Violet can also offer refuge to some. Historically, there has always been a spiritual quality attached to it. The use of mystical shades of purple is pretty common in meditation spaces and is often associated with mindfulness practices.

You don’t have to commit to something too big, too quickly. Even small touches here and there like fleece throws, pillows, duvet covers and wall decor can go a long way when adding that Ultra Violet umph into your space
